Context

INES aims to revolutionize the understanding of how beneficial factors are imprinted on the epigenome, catalyzing lasting health through targeted interventions. Through multidisciplinary collaboration, state-of-the-art methodologies, and the continuous pursuit of transformative insights, we envision a future where positive influences shape human health, resilience, and prosperity. Leveraging our expertise in advanced methods encompassing integrated omics, epigenetics, social sciences, epidemiology, biostatistics, bioinformatics, data science, and sustainable/explainable artificial intelligence, we commit to forging new knowledge and innovative tools to develop this new field of research and intervention.

This effort is supported by a series of existing collaborations and resources that fuel the development of INES. For example:

Mameli project

Collaboration with the city of Legnano
Hosting an ERC project led by PI Valentina Bollati, aiming to create a cohort of individuals with comprehensively characterized exposomes. This “Living Lab” represents a fertile ground for studying INES themes, fostering innovation, collaboration, and community engagement.

HEBE project

Involvement with the HEBE consortium
A highly multidisciplinary project developed by 140 UNIMI researchers, promoting a health culture and disease prevention through lifestyle changes.
